All About Inlet Beach on 30A
Inlet Beach is the gateway to Scenic Highway 30A, situated on the eastern most section of South Walton County. This authentic 30A beach town is bordered by 13-acres of protected dunes, the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Powell, the rare coastal dune lake. Inlet Beach also has the most public beach accesses on 30A—seven of them to be exact.
Over the years 30A’s Inlet Beach has also been called Phillips Inlet as well as Soldiers Beach and Veterans Beach due to the fact that land was once sold to veterans returning from World War II via a lottery system. Soldiers who won the lottery could receive 1.25 acres of land if they agreed to build an 800 square foot house there and pay a $50 fee. That was then.
