The Perfect Pig

Seagrove, Watercolor, Gulf Place

Praise the lard. The Perfect Pig is annually awarded Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence and was recently voted one of the hottest spots on 30A. You can also feel great about dining at this shabby-chic bistro since it donates to a long list of charities. With three locations in Seagrove, Gulf Place, and Watercolor, you will want to come to see why this place is a perennial favorite for breakfast and brunch.

All three locations offer a delicious breakfast menu with savory selections such as biscuits and gravy and avocado toast, as well as sweet treats such as pecan or chocolate pancakes. Don’t miss out on the house made quiche or breakfast grilled cheese either! You can pick up the Perfect Pignic at the Seagrove location to take to the beach with you after breakfast. The Gulf Place location offers a specialty Sunday brunch menu that includes black and blue eggs Benedict, freshly baked beignets, homemade quiche, and more. At the Watercolor location, you will find a Sunday brunch that serves a southern Benedict, French toast, bottomless mimosas, fresh ground coffee with free refills, and more.  

Big Bad Breakfast

Inlet Beach, Miramar Beach

John Currence, the James Beard award winning chef-owner of Big Bad Breakfast, displays his passion for food at this restaurant specializing in breakfast. They also serve lunch, so you can have fried chicken for breakfast, fried eggs for lunch, or burgers for both. Their bloody marys are made from scratch. Mimosas are made with fresh squeezed orange juice, and their Irish Coffee is modeled after the original recipe served famously at the Buena Vista Cafe in San Francisco. Shrimp and grits, the Cathead chicken biscuit, and the Redneck Bennie are items not to be missed. Big Bad Breakfast has two locations in Inlet Beach and one in Miramar Beach. 

Donut Hole

Inlet Beach, Miramar Beach

This local’s favorite bakery and diner features a breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu all day. This means if you are craving a fresh stack of pancakes at night or want a steak sandwich for breakfast, the choice is yours. They have a fabulous selection of bakery-style desserts and donuts so you can get a dozen vanilla angel cake donuts or try a slice of key lime pie, coconut cream pie, or pecan pie. The line forms early at this place if you just want to pick up donuts, so take note.

The Donut Hole is more than just sweets and treats with many savory options available. You can enjoy a crab eggs Benedict for breakfast, a french dip sandwich for lunch, or a steak or burger for dinner. Arrive early for breakfast to avoid the lines that quickly form after opening. The Donut Hole has two locations on 30A at 12983 US-98 E, Inlet Beach, and 6745 US-98, Miramar Beach, open 6 am to 10 pm. 

The Great Southern

Seaside

The Great Southern, located in Seaside, serves up elevated Southern cuisine in this world-famous beach town. Their menu is filled with Southern favorites with a twist, like their fried green tomato Benedict, corn beef hash Benedict, and chicken and waffles. Don’t miss their delicious grits either. They serve up plenty of classic Southern dishes that include the pancake plate, steak and eggs, biscuits and gravy, and more. You can start your day with freshly brewed Amavida coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, a mimosa, bloody mary, or Kombucha-Mosa with Noli South's Citrus Butterfly Jasmine and champagne. Breakfast is served daily from 8 am to 10:45 am. 

Black Bear Bread Co.

Grayton Beach, Seaside, Miramar Beach

Black Bear Bread Company is a Parisian-style café and bakery with three South Walton locations in Grayton Beach, Seaside, and Grand Boulevard. The founders and chef share a vision to create a true neighborhood bakery with fresh natural baked goods, amazing food, local ingredients, and the best-tasting coffee in the area. Their menu features breakfast sandwiches on fresh croissants, freshly baked bread, and pastries with freshly brewed coffee and teas. You may enjoy one of the specialty lattes, like the hummingbird, that combines espresso, oat milk, honey, lavender, and sea salt for a full-dimensional flavor. 

Canopy Road Cafe

Inlet Beach, Seagrove Beach

Canopy Road Cafe offers modern, exciting twists on the classic American diner with breakfast and lunch served daily. Fresh, fun, and flavorful is their motto, and it shows with their extensive menu. Their specialty menu items include sweet potato pancakes, beignet bites, and a smash melt. They include a healthy eats menu, house favorites, tex-mex, girdle delights, build-your-own omelets, lunch sandwiches, and salads. 

Their main menu stays consistent, but their specialty menu is constantly evolving and changing seasonally. They offer gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and vegetarian options and can accommodate most dietary needs. If you love the coffee, they sell bags of Canopy Road Coffee blend in the store. Canopy Road Cafe also offers catering, so you can splurge with a catered brunch for your crew.They are located in 30Avenue in Inlet Beach and Greenway Station in Seagrove.

Grayton Beach

Crackings in Grayton Beach is a family-owned restaurant specializing in homestyle breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes, but don’t hesitate, because it’s only open for breakfast and lunch.Their menu features fresh Gulf Benedict, fresh Gulf snapper and grits, summertime French toast, and so much more. They have a children's menu and proudly offer discounts for military and first responders. You can enjoy daily live music outside from 9:30 AM till 12:30 PM. Crackings is open Tuesday through Sunday 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM. 

Bud & Alleys 

Seaside

As one of the oldest restaurants in South Walton, you will love starting your day with a waterfront view and delicious food at this local and visitor favorite spot. You can order a traditional Southern-style breakfast or try something unique like the crab Benedict or duck confit hash. To satisfy your sweet tooth, try buttermilk pancakes, French toast, and fresh fruit. They offer a kids menu for the young ones in your family. The adults can enjoy a sunrise cocktail or take their drink to-go in a custom Bud & Alley's Tumbler.
